James Stronge was from the renowned Tynan Abbey family dynasty. The heir to the estate and family titles, he died in the Third Battle of Ypres, or Battle of Passchendaele, in August 1917.

Captain Harry Gallaher DSO, from Manorcunningham, East Donegal, organiser of the Ulster Volunteer movement in 1913. He was recommended for a Victoria Cross due to his action in the Theatre of War but was awarded a DSO.
He fell on 7th June 1917 at the Battle of Messine.
He was injured and attended a field hospital for treatment before being fatally injured on returning to the Battlefield.
